IMBM Children Home
CHILDREN HOME: With the vision to give the utmost service to this struggling border and downtrodden people, IMBM has established two Homes for the children – IMBM CHILDREN HOME and REFUGEES SHELTER HOME & SCHOOL
IMBM Children Home: This Home is situated in Ukhrul, Manipur one of the last India’s towns in the border of India and Myanmar, and is serving with a vision to give full care for orphans and destitute children in God’s love and a family atmosphere. This compassionate and philanthropic initiative was started with the initiative of Ninglum Wungkhai and a group of dedicated IMBM board members in 2009 to help the border’s children. These children are cared through the generous contributions of board members, friends, churches and charity aided organizations. Most of the children in our home are orphans and destitute children brought from the remote border villages of India and Myanmar. We have about 20 orphan kids in our home at present. There are 10 more children who are on the line looking for the sponsor in order to enroll in our home. They are prayerfully looking forward for the compassionate donor to admit in our home. We would like to add more children after the completion of new building at Langdang, Ukhrul. So far, we have produced 70 children who finished 12 grade and some finished graduation from our home and went to different fields.
REFUGEES SHELTER HOME: The villages in the border’s are facing tremendous hardships due to influx of Myanmar refugees on the onset of Military coups’ crisis in Feb 2021. Thousands of refugees are taking refuge in the border. As per OCHA Myanmar Humanitarian Update on September, 2022, According to UN figures, the estimated number of IDPs since the military takeover has passed 974,400, bringing the total number of IDP across the country to almost 1.3 million. More than 45,500 people remain in neighboring countries after fleeing since the takeover. Nearly 26,000 civilian properties, including houses, churches, monasteries, and schools are estimated to have been destroyed during hostilities, although figures are difficult to verify. At least 1500 civilians are known to have been killed, and more than 1300 armies have been killed too.
Therefore, even in the state of Manipur, more than 2500 refugees are taking refuge in different villages and adjacent towns. We have started REFUGEES SHELTER HOME and School specially for the children. We are accommodating at least 56 children in our home.
We are looking forward for the compassionate donors to support the orphans, destitute and refugee children at the minimum rate with best service.
